The macro replacement has only ever worked with *some-text* ...

R206B6 allows you to use more patient specific variables as below in a template.

This *age* year old *sex* who works as a *occupation* returns for management of his *diagnoses* and a repeat prescription for *medications*.

The *age* *sex* *occupation* are replaced automatically with no choices available.

    Text.

Tonsils are reddened with exudates, and there is pharyngeal injection. There is *some* local lymphadenopathy, with *some* tenderness. Temperature is slightly elevated at *nn*.*n* deg. C, and the tympanic membranes are *clear*. There is no skin rash, and no meningism. no visible petechiae were present A rapid streptococcal test was *negative* and this illness was felt to be a *viral* illness. This *age* year old *sex* who works as a *occupation* returns for management of his *diagnoses* and a repeat prescription for *medications*.

*occupation*- replaced automatically with no choices available. I often still have occupation blank ... is that going to be a problem ?

I love how these work ! Especially the medications and diagnoses.

We will need to either (1) start a list of requests for entry into the "vocabulary" or

    (2) allow the end user to made lists in a text file that are read upon loading ..

    (3) some GUI interface to add more text replacement options.

How about (1) to start ?

    Re: Synapse Client 206 beta-6

The ./Dictionary/English.dat file contains the vocabulary already. You can use a text editor to add more. Maybe they should be saved in a server preferences file.

I only added the *age* *sex* *occupation* *diagnoses* and *medications* to allow you to access specific patient features.

    I forgot all about .dat.

I think I will save these things on the server.

The question is whether they should be shared by everyone, or, be specific to a particular user ....

The things you can't access are the patient specific variables.

    Do you need any others?

The font command expect both a font family and optionally a font size. So, you could have

    font Times-Bold 12

    font Time-Bold

    or something like that.

    Re: Synapse Client 206 beta-?

With luck the following enhancements may make it to this 206 beta.
    1. Text to be inserted at the cursor point from a template
    2. A calendar widget to be embedded into the add-results page rather than having to pop up one all the time.

Bug ? First time I hit Text Replace (to start the process) the first *some* doesn't highlight.

    Re: Synapse Client 206 beta-7

can we switch around the left and right button functions ... ie. so the left mouse button click on the Replacement Text will perform the replace and will find the next item ?

    Re: Synapse Client 206 beta-7

Yes, there is some bug for the first macro, but at least the rest now highlight!!

As for left click .. don't think so. All the spell checkers I have seen ask you to select the word and then click on replace. This is the way things are done, and the current user model which we try to match.

    Re: Synapse Client 206 beta-7

    OK. I can adjust.

    :)

I sorta felt it might be a more fun to start the process with a left click and just hammer through them with the left mouse button.

As for what the end user would expect ? I've never repeatedly hit the right mouse button over and over again. In windows, the right mouse button is used to bring up a menu, not select.

    Re: Synapse Client 206 beta-7

the user model is to select with the mouse, and then push a button.

    Alternatively, double click.

I just chucked in right click as well[H]
