I'd like a medications section, distinct from the doctor's medication section where patient's can log their Over The Counter pills such as aspirin, vitamin D, calcium, iron, loperamide, various herbs, etc. They would be able to remove and add medications from their list. This list would be viewable from within synapse as well.
I'd like a section called Requests, where patients can request certain things such as: (1) massage therapy prescriptions (2) orthotics prescriptions (3) re-referral to a specialist (4) I'd like for them to be able to request a pharmacy change. (5) whatever This requests section could be customized to each practice, depending on what the doctor is comfortable with.
For me, I'd like them to be able to update me on certain things I usually cover in a physical. Q: Are they smoking ? How Much, What Exercise ? How Much. Stress Level (Likert scale 1-10), What year they last had an eye exam. Are they working, where ? What job ? It would be like a pre-physical questionnaire. Considering that the patients do the work here ... I wouldn't mind alot more information about them ! Stuff like: Religion, Power of Attourney for Personal Care, Education, Place of Birth. Other ways to contact me: Instant messaging, Text Messaging. I'd like for them to be able to sign up for a yearly Flu shot, Ontario Bre_astScreening Program, or any other Program I might offer. I'd like for them to update me on certain things ..... "My mom just got breast Cancer", Dr. XYZ increased my Ramipril. These updates are more relevant than just a message.
I changed the password in testing .. it's now back to "1234" As for the certificate .. yes, I know about those warnings. I'm still using a dummy localhost certificate. Other requests noted.
Email policy: Currently the new patient registration allows users to enter an email address, but does not send an email back to confirm the address, and to validate the registration ( which most sites seem to do these days ) so that the portal can be used in your waiting room to allow new patient registrations .. eg. for patients who don't have email. Even if they do have email, you don't necessarily want their registration held up by a delayed email confirmation ( spam folders etc ).
Personal Details > Update --- seems redundant with the If any of these details are incorrect, or have changed, please advise us.

For Message ... it is currently: Read Messages, Compose Messages. I'd call em .. "Read Messages" and "Send a Message". Some of my patients don't know compose.
I did some searching and as far as I can tell Synapse is the only Client-Server EMR with an integrated portal !
I fixed a bug in the patient add results which was causing the dates to be set to another century. Also, when viewing serial results, the data is automatically graphed out. The screen capture is of my BMI over a couple of years.
Yes, it's a very cool javascript graphing tool .. you can hover over each point and it displays the underlying data points for you. Now, if I could only get my BMI below 23 []
what happens is the chart appears as it is in the bottom part of the .jpg ... but then ends up looking like the top part. see .jpg
