I'm currently seeing about 15 new patients a day - entering all their medications is proving a little tedious. Need some way to speed up the process and somehow capture the RxCUIs as well.
You need a CCR to do the reconciliation. The manual one is there just to record it has been done for Meaningful Use purposes. I could try to ask my nurse .. but I need to create a web based data entry for her.
Results as you Type I would love speed here too. Does rebol have any AJAX code to mimic Google Instant (Results as you Type) ? It would really help for Medical software (which does alot of "selecting" by nature).
This is the first time I've seen the RxTerms lookup. I feel the "90/10" rule is being violated here. I'll come up with a proposal.
Food instructions can't be mandatory No way Food should be mandatory ! I've never ever put this on a prescription myself.
One reason why I've taken so long to use Medications in Synapse is the general slowness. Could the whole Popup be redesigned ?
You were concerned about speed with the previous design. I think the latest design looks very similar to the one you felt was slow. Can you draw a mock up of the plans ?
This is for web input for my nurse .... the design is not finalized yet. The speed is only an issue because the it is using Ajax on a remote server ...it could be a lot faster with a local server but we shall see.
I'm thinking that allowing the user to select the number, route etc is a waste of time .. better they just type it in, and you select from a sig that has been previously used.
So these are rheumatology patients, coming to see you in the hospital. They are intake patients, never seen before, and you type in all the drugs they take ? Do all the drugs need to get codified ? The vast majority of these drugs you will never prescribe ?
Yes. Never seen by me before but could well be attending other depts, and likely to be coming back to see me. Yes, if I want drug interactions. Likely, but I want to record them all to make the medical record complete. And my nurse can enter them for me ... I've updated the demo .. need to get the final column working.
Mouseless switching between columns. Nice. Even supports [shift]+tab for going backwards ! Nicer ! Note: drug interactions don't need directions ! Just drug name probably, maybe forumulation. This is still too slow. This is a database approach. This definitely violates the 90/10 rule. Slow There much faster ways for (1) drug selecting and (2) this specific attempt at mass drug entering (ie. typing in all 14 of the patient's medications.)
When your nurse can not type, having a dynamic selection is the best way to avoid errors. It's not just for drug interactions, it's to ensure an accurate medical record.
All patients come with referral letters with a list of medications on them. No referral, no appt! At present I am typing them all in .. and I want my nurse to do that task.
