    She would have to assign a normal short neuro exam to one of the anatomical list items.

    Remember that CMS is against using templated normal examinations ...

    That should do
    I wonder for doctors using EMR, who don't use some kind of template. I know there are doctors who dictate sometimes will dictate "neurological exam normal" and their transcriptionists will fill in the whole normal system exam using his template! CMS would prefer you clicking through each anatomical item than using a pre-written whole system normal exam to make sure you did what you put on paper.
