There is another config file for the chat client kept in the synapse-emr directory. Looks like this has been corrupted. So, from the directory where synapse lives .... Code: cd synapse-emr del synapse-config.r cd .. synapse
it was a faulty config file. I deleted the synapse-config.r from the \synapse-emr\ directory. Then started synapse.exe. Works. Thanks.
