I noticed the dictation window pops up in front now which is great.

I think I should be able to dictate from anywhere, not just the consult window.

Hmm. Has possibilities ... but more choice is not necessarily good.

    1. ESC now does not close the main window down, but clears the patient search fields
    2. Deleting a file from the patient archive now refreshes the window with the patient archive
    3. Prescriptions written from consults should not overwrite the consult

Note: Alt + F4 closes windows as well. :)

    1. Support for Schiller Medical Instruments ( EKG, Spirometry )

This release implements the SEMA2 protocol to allow patients to be exported to Schiller Medical Instruments, and results to be imported back.

    1. Set up Settings/User/Interface/SEMA2 paths
    2. Make sure Settings/User/Interface/HL7 path is set up
    3. Create a new patient consult
    4. In patient consult select the "Template" tab
    5. Select a SEMA examination at the table at the bottom of the screen
    6. Send Request
    7. Fire up the SDS104 software, and export the result using the SEMA2 protocol
    8. From Inbox, click on SEMA2 button to convert all these .exp files to HL7 and store in the HL7 directory
    9. Synapse will then process all the files in the HL7 directory including the ones it has converted to HL7 from SEMA2
    10. Click on "Refresh" to show them in the Inbox.

Might Schiller want to package a Synapse Lite for digital management of their results ?

    :)

    Looks good.

Can you breakdown why all those steps ? Seems like too much.

Well, you don't need to create a new consult .. but you need to be in one at the time you request the EKG. So, no added step really.

The SDS104 software should already be running on your PC EKG workstation.

So, you just take the EKG, and export the result.

In Synapse .. convert the exported files to HL7 and then import.

    So, really only 2 steps.

I expect that in the final versions, Synapse will automatically scan all import directories and do the conversion automatically.

    1. Supports associating ticklers with encounters

    R209B17

    1. Ticklers can now be associated with encounters

What are the advantages of this?
    • Less typing in describing the task
    • Also, it is a way of sending a specific encounter to another staff member .. eg. for a second opinion.
If there are no bugs discovered, this will be the final 209 beta.

started using the tickler function from the inbox. It's going to be very helpful.

    One issue.

I often am reviewing an entry. I add some metadata ... and then I decide this will need a tickler for my secretary. When I double click on the entry .. I lose my typed in Metadata. We will either need a [Save] button or ... autosave any changes upon double-clicking to get to the tickler.

When you click on add diagnoses, you're in keyboard mode .. so moving back to mouse mode wastes time. Easier to just backspace to remove the age!

Don't double click .. try right click instead.

When you click on [add diagnosis] you are using the mouse, so it would take almost no time to click on the word age and then click on the diagnosis box.
