R216B98 9 Feb 2010 New - In the fax inbox, double click to high light the surname in the OCR. Then click on the first "?". Synapse now extracts all the dates from the OCR text it can and matches it against all the patients with that surname. It only displays those that match. Clicking on the second "?" shows all the dates extracted to allow you to select date.
This is a big help when you have many patients sharing the same surname. If Synapse can extract the dob from the OCR, then the combination of surname and dob will usually not return more than one patient. Whereas searching on eg. Lopez on a hispanic practice will return hundreds! Currently Synapse will try and recognise these date formats: 1-Jan-08 1-Jan-2008 1 December 08 and these numeric types 1/12/2000 1/12/00 Note that the second value is considered a month if you live in a positive offset timezone, and a day if you live in a negative timezone. So, at present it will be wrong if you live in American Samoa, or Hawaii I'll add a date preference ....
