A little tidying up is needed.

Note in later iterations I have added a (1) Notes section (2) Who column.

The popup need to be made wider as well.

Please note how these screen often only show buttons as they are need, ie. no Update button until a tickler is selected. No blank tickler until add tickler is selected.

    Re: First Tickler screen

    If [Add Tickler] is clicked.

note: the default priority should be 3. default status should be Pending.

note: Ticklers must be assignable entities. I want to assign my secretary to "Find a bowel specialist in City xyz". A bigger clinic would have a staff person just doing referrals and it should go to that person.

Note: there should be a Notes section here as displayed in the later iterations of the tickler popup.

    Re: First Tickler screen

I added a Who column to clearly disply who is responsible. Note this can be changed.

I also really would like a notes section for staff to be able to document that the patient with rectal bleeding refused to go for a colonoscopy so it can be marked complete but there is a bit of a trail.

    Re: First Tickler screen

After clicking either (1) cancel, Save, Update or Update and Send .... The state of the window should return to the original state with NO tickler selected (blue highlight).

    Re: First Tickler screen

So, it looks like I need to
    1. Create a field to track the author of the tickler
    2. Create a field for the actor who carries out the tickler
    3. Add another notes field
    4. Add a log field to track changes for audit purposes
    5. Leave the current ticklers report in the report screen, but create a personal ticklers tab within the inbox to track one's own ticklers and todos

    Re: First Tickler screen

Since you're a solo practitioner .. you don't need to filter.

The filtering was to allow a clerical person work on the ticklers for each doc at a time.

    Re: New mockup

    Cleaner looking screen.

The details would come up, only when a tickler is selected.

    NICE !!

Q: would this type of functionality be hard ?

    Re: New mockup

Most of the time you're going to want to look at details so might as well leave the fields in.

Sure I can make them disappear and reappear .. but I think it's distracting that way.

My theme is to change the button colors to direct users to the correct action.

    Re: New mockup

Alot of the time, Ijust want to see "what needs tickling"

Maybe some fresher eyes could weigh in here. (Our eyes are bothstale).

The extraneous blank fields in many areas in Synapse, to my eyes, adds distraction, giving the impression of busyness.

The classic example of the Diagnoses Table where we need a "Select diagnosis from the left table", is a non-ideal method to deal with the problem of people filling fields out without [add diagnosis] first (data gets lost) and for the issue of needing to select a diagnosis before the data gets populated.

The busyness is more of a problem in themore important Tabs/Popups like: Diagnoses and Surgeries and Medications. I would much rather those high traffic areas have cleaner looking GUIs.

It definitely helps. But it doesn't clean things up. It really serves as a supplement to other GUI cleaning up.

I think this "Just in Time" display/buttons is not done in other programs because it requires additional server queries. This isn't the problem in Synapse. We need to exploit the powers of quick rebol's GUI more fully - because we can.

Just some food for thought :)

    Cleaner. I like it.

I'd go the full 9 yards and get rid of Update: and the Update button until they are needed.

    Re: New mockup

I'd also reblank screen when you hit [Update].

I'd also reblank screen when you hit [Save].

The [add tickler] --> [save] button is great.

I was contemplating the need to show the user the Updated tickler but that would require them to hit close when done reviewing. Over time people will learn that you need to visually verify things before you hit update. :)

    Re: New mockup

We are ramping up tickler use at my office. We would like it if the first tickler screen after hitting [F7] for the popup would not display COMPLETED items.
