Many Occ Med docs have taken the course/are practicing Medical Review Officers for the purpose of providing an alternative explanation for drug screen positives. I used to do a fair bit of this, and still have a small account I work with. Drug screen donors are expressly not considered patients, and there is no doctor-patient relationship. I had designed an Access database previously and separate OmniForm database to provide/fax formal MRO ruling forms, receive the drug screen faxes from labs, receive other faxes from drug screen donors and employers, and finally send a bill for my services to the employer. After all the hylafax stuff Graham has set in place, and the use of AcroForms, it suddenly dawned on me that I have everything I need to put all this stuff in synapse to make it all more efficient. I will report back to let everyone know just how well it works in practice.
