It looks like a large number of registrations on all the forums I run are now being made by spambots. And the automated anti-spambot captcha images are being decoded automatically ( or even manually ). This is a good resource to check new registration emails/usernames/ip addresses against .. http://www.stopforumspam.com/ They never get as far as posting a message but it's annoying to have these bots in the user database.
I give up .... just let everyone/thing register and hope the software catches the spambots if they try and post.
