    Undocumented feature ....

If searching for a surname with a space it in in the quick search popup, use an underscore to separate them. Otherwise Synapse will treat them as first name and then surname

eg: Looking for "Jason Le Strange" - type "Jason Le_Strange"

Note that if you use the top row "Surname:" field to search, it does not require this as it is unambiguous.

Q: is there a way to search for first names with the F3 popup ?

I sometimes only remember their first name :)

if not, what about a sneaky feature like

a trailing period denotes first name searching

    ie.

    james. (for first name james)

    and just

    james (for last name searching)

no biggie. I just tried the [Search] tab for the first time :)

Just simpler to use the search tab if you only remember the first name
