Running Client and Server on single PC.

    I have been running a Synapse client instance on the Synapse server PC.


    Are there any potential problems with this configuration?

    The main point of having a server is so that a client application ( ie. anything the user is using, virus, spyware etc ) doesn't crash the PC, and bring down the server during a database write, which would lead to a corrupted database. Prevention is the better part of the cure.

    However, having said that, I used Synapse in this way for some months before migrating to a server, and no problems. It's just not recommended.

    I also do hourly backups during the day with FIBS
