I have been running windows 7 32 bit with 2gb of ram on my laptop. I upgraded the other day to 5 gb of ram ... 3.25gb usable, and there is a BIG difference in the speed of PDF generation and viewing. Well recommended.
Why 5 gb? 32 bit OS can only use 4 gb ram I think. Otherwise totally agree with you, I try to have at least 2 gb for XP and 4 gb for windows 7.
Because my laptop only has 1 memory slot available .. so either I upgraded to 3Gb, or 5Gb. And later on I might switch to 64 bit windows.
