I think I'll change it for next time to "No medications" and "NKDA" instead of returning blank.

I tried making a drug of "NKDA", with dose "NKDA" and sig "No Drug Allergies", then saved it as an +Allergy. Works fine for me... in "Allergies and Old Medications" pane displays as: Name=NKDA, Dose=NKDA Reasons=allergy:No Drug Allergies". I think is is good, as when you view the patient's medications, you see that for sure the patient is NKDA, not just that somebody forgot to look.

I have been doing this as well.


Will this method of adding a fake drug cause any problems going forward like with Drug Interaction checking ... etc. Will NKDA as a drug play well with Synapse eRx ?

It'll be an unknown drug type so don't imagine it will cause issues.

The way to resolve this may be to have a reconciliation date recorded vs actually storing dummy data like this.
