I've got a new script http://rebol.wik.is/Hylafax/Showlog.rsp This script shows the last 100 log entries in /var/spool/hylafax/log so you can view them via the browser. And you can see the jobid as well. So, if you see a fax has failed in the status page, you can use the jobid to then find the appropriate logfile and see why.
Currently Synapse keeps a copy of all faxes generated via PS/PDF ... and sent via the Fax Applet. But, if you take a blank bit of virtual paper, ink on it, and then use the Fax Applet to fax it, it can't track this. So, I propose to get the Fax Applet to send a copy to the Synapse server instead of the Print Dialog doing that.
Another proposal is to have record separate IP addresses for the fax server depending on whether you are inside the LAN or outside ... if the fax server runs on your lan.
You heard that wik.is is decomissioning ? Have you backed up your data on wik.is ? I think it dies Jan 1, 2011.
