The function keys 1 - 12 are now being programmed for added functionality. F1 will be context sensitive help. F2 - F12 are open for sugggestions. If no suggestions are received, and I'll decide what they are to be used for.
I have decided to create a list of functions that you can use, and you assign them yourself to the function keys in the Settings/Function Keys tab. This will be done for Build 156. These settings will most likely to practice specific initially. Otherwise it might be too confusing if each user in a practice has their own function key assignments. I might revisit this if necessary.
I've decided to make the function keys user specific. But if not setup, they default to a standard setup.
The Function Key are delightful to work with - I love pulling up parts of the patient's chart *INSTANTANEOUSLY*. What medications was this patient taking ? [F8] --> Boom. There is is!
My secretary has not assigned function keys. But synapse still has some defaults, which are not shown by default. I feel it would be more intuitive if the Synapse defaults matched the "F Keys Settings section" I have typed out what the synapse defaults are:
Both of these work on the Linux versions ! [H] If they don't work in Windows, it's because Windows is trapping the event before Synapse EMR can see it.
I'd like to have a permanent and definitive list of what the default F1-F12 popups will be. F1 = Help F2 = Last Consultation F4 = Last prescription. F5 = Vitals F6 = ICD9 Codes F7 = SuperBill F8 = Ticklers F9 = Diagnoses F10 = F11 = Medication History F12 = others -- CPTs, Feedback (didnt know it existed!), I see there are 16 in total, but there are only 12 function keys, and not all 12 work. Could we assign the "CORE" 10 Function keys ? I think that F1-F3 are "already decided" sort of. Could you make the final assignments and also have those assignments show up in the F-Keys Tab ?
Yes F12 works on every computer but my secretary's computer. F10 doesn't work on any of the computers.
If the Function key is accessible to Synapse, then the shift and control key F keys are also. I think it was a mistake to allow user assigned F keys. I think I'll just assign the keys for everyone.
