Just thinking out loud here. My inbox is overflowing - again. Q: should we have inbox filtering like we have results filtering ? Uses: 1) filter by currently selected patient - that way if I have 3 things on one patient, I can deal with them in a row. 2) use of keywords to streamline workflow. Words could be used in the metadata to filter on lunch = to do at lunch phonehospital = hospital wants a call back. DoToday = must be done today. .... more later.
It's most recent at the bottom. I think it's an added complexity to start filtering on the inbox, and adding priorities .. more work for the secretarial staff too. Much better if they message you about something urgent. And you can use the table headers to sort in to different orders.
Ahh. When they are adding something to the inbox and all they have to do is type one word to get it seen quicker .. that's pretty convenient. For urgent things yes. What about for non-urgent things like fax prescritpion repeats (that should be done at lunch) ? What about for things that need to be done that day, but they don't need to pull me out of an exam room to alert me. But they table doesn't stay sorted. That's is a more standard way to do this. But after I file one item, the Inbox resorts back to being ordered by date entered.
I also end up in the situation where the top entry is something I want to do LATER. But it is hard to work around this entry because it keeps staying at the top spot. It's like I want to shunt it to another tab called TODO, so I can deal with it later. Q: is it possible to move the top entry to the bottom .. with say a right click ? Q: wouldn't that be easy ? Maybe we need a tree widget here. [] I normally feel there should be "ONE inbox". I am not sure how to apply that principle here.
So you want a button named "Procrastinate" [H]
Sometimes in the "Getthing things done method" if it'll take more than 5 minutes, it's best to push it off for later. My Inbox has 70 items still.
So you want a button named "Procrastinate" [H]
Yes. I would like the chance to "Re-File" an item, effectively putting the item to the end of the queue (as if it just had been scanned). I would call the button either SKIP or Later. This would help me alot. The top 10 items in my inbox are all non-urgent and will take me 15+ minutes each. Now I have a hard time reviewing urgent things because non-urgent items keep blocking the top of the inbox.
