Does your scanner ... 1. scan to a ftp directory or a mapped drive 2. auto deskew documents 3. embed ocr text inside PDFs 4. not cost an arm and a leg 5. shred documents once they are scanned Mine does 1, and 4 - it's part of my MFC color laser printer. Scanning to a folder without PC intervention is very handy ..... being a network scanner, but to scan into my PC from the scanner is a monumental task. I don't bother.
no mine is Kodak i1120, it does have a twain driver, although it's wia driver does basically the same thing with paperport
I like being able to fax directly from paper to snappyfax with the Kodak. The scansnap won't "print" directly to the SnappyFax printer driver. Other than that, they are similar. The Scansnap scans my Lab Results better, as it filters out the ugly lines better (interprets them as white not black). OCR accuracy ... not sure ... need more testing. Overall very similar. There are advantages to having all office members with the same scanner.
My scanner has 20 buttons that I can use for different directories to scan to, and I can setup each with default scanning to Tiff or pdf, monochrome and color. I think I'd prefer better scanning quality that other features .. such as scan to fax as that can be emulated.
