It is neat to be able to fax scanned results from the results tab but there is a two step process

viz you have to download the scan from the server if it is not present, and then fax it.

I'll see if I can make that one step.

OTOH, I could add an [Edit] button, so that you scrawl on the PDF or TIFF, and then fax it off.

And the changes are saved back to the cache-listener ... now that might be useful.

So, add an Edit button ... when faxing, check to see if the file was really changed or not .. if changed fax it, and then ask for new metadata ... and then save it back as new file to cache-listener.

I'll add this if there is sufficient demand.

Is this dealing with fax RX renewals ?

I am not understanding what you mean here.

It could be for anything where you have to fax out something for which you have a scanned image.

You can now easily fax out a fax/scan that you have filed for a patient.

To use, go to Patients--> Results -->Test Results tab, and highlight the patient entry you would like to fax. Hit the new "Fax" button and it will bring up the Cheyenne fax applet to fax that entry out for you.

The workflow is (most probably): Add a patient scan with the "Add Result" applet (make annotations or add a digital signature with PP, sdraw, etc first), or through Inbox -->Faxes. File to patient's results. Fax back out to whomever needs the signed/annotated copy.

Note: this works with .tif .. no need to convert to pdf first if using hylafax server.

In settings/lists/hpi lists, on the tabs, card and gast, click on i-load, and then save. Add other values using the fields below each table in the fields3. In a detailed progress note, enter a CC eg. chest pain, and then click on HPI. 4. Click on the "Auto" button to generate an auto text, and then "Card". 5. Select chest pain, and this will display a "chest pain" template if you have defined one. if not, then create one.6. accept it and then click on the check box (S)he denies and then all the other symptoms the patient does not have. This is a work in progress .. so we need to decide on whether we need other glue words such as " and " or other phrases. And we need to construct lists for each specialty. You will note that there's a fair bit of spare white space in the HPI editor.

We can use that for more glue words eg. "or" "the" etc or display favorite phrases there ...
