    ambitious !

    looks good.

    I took a look.

    It looks real good.

What a great Monday morning !

    :)

    (not)

I've always wanted "Diagnoses" to have their own tab, I feel I have that now, but better :)

I can't wait to see it printed. We might want some options for when it prints / faxes, etc. You might not want super inclusive details for all diagnoses etc. Have to think about it.

    Love it.

It's like a combo free form / codified thing. Nice.

    "Some" ideas.

    Lots of colour.

So many suggestions, I needed a "colour key". !

on call tonight, gone to [H], bbl.

First off, I think splitting diagnoses into separate tabs ie. major/minor is an added complication and complexity. I think one should only be listing diagnoses that need management, or affect future management.

The CCR status of a problem has 8 states, and we can use some of those as a drop down, and edit in the others as needed.

My intent is that everything is optional except the diagnosis.

The order of some of those fields is determined by screen real estate. Since you have to tab thru them all to get to the summary, I don't think it matters too much the exact order.

I need some clarification as to why you want to have a tickler in this screen when they are just a tab away!

    Beta-2
    1. increased the number of status items for the diagnoses management
    2. In the macros, you can now change to different classes using the drop down list
    3. the macros window is now made larger
    4. A "Replace" button appears for those who are keyboard challenged and can't do Control-S easily (tablets)
    5. A resizing issue was fixed on the same screen
    6. the business2 field is no longer obligatory in the providers section

    beta-3
    1. The tickler fields that got lost in beta-1 are now restored
    2. The labels with colours on the disease management screen now bring up requesters
    3. The superbill now only has one CPT charge tab with two tables. The left hand table are office procedures and billable. The right hand table may be billable if you have in house labs and radiology
    4. No reminder is given if you don't use a CPT code now.
    5. A bug in the PostScript output ( if you had an unmatched bracket eg ( in the text, nothing got printed ) in the consults and prescriptions is now fixed

What printing options should there be for disease management fields?

I guess. It's really hard to say. If you think that eczema (which is common, needs meds often, requires some management) should be on the list then patient lists are going to be very long. Since we've dropped Problem Lists, the list gets longer. I am filling up the entire screen with some patients. I'm sure lots will go over. Does hemorrhoids go on ? (can need surgical management).

I wantto keep the complexity down as well.Dual Tabs ain't great for that. I would see theMinor Tab as keeping the"lesserdiagnoses" from the more important ones, so that will help the clinician focus on the meat and potatoes. Everything is a trade off. For a specialist, I doubt anyone would ever get their Diagnoses tab filled.

    I think I might have a compromise.

    Goodidea, keeping CCR compliant

    Probably safest.

Q: Do you use Tab alot in Synpase ?

Some diseases (i.e. Colon Polyps) have a built in need for Follow Up, many others do not.

    Nice. Very Interesting Functionality.

This type of functionality is good forplaces that don't have alot of screen real estate.

Yes, I would have all of these on the list. Is eczema minor ? Not always to the patient.

    What is it?
    Yeah.
Hopefully that will be managed by global HMGs.

    Re: Use of Tab Button.

I'd like to use the Tab button more but you can't hit [Enter] when you are on the tab you want.

ie. [Add medication] .. if you tab to it, I'd like to be able to hit enter and then not use the mouse... but I seem to have to click the buttons.

Alot of eczema I see is minor.

    :)

The compromise: an extra super skinny sortable column

    Just had a thought.

an Interesting problem in our "Diagnoses List" is that you can't easily put the "Most Important" at the top.

maybe the "one character column" could accept numbers 1,2,3,4,5 (which would then do their order). It would be assumed that a "numbered" disease would be "Major", or maybe it's status could be "very current/active" and thus numbered.

I wonder if the column had numbers and Letters .. would all the numbers be listed first or last ?

I think this type of extra information is useful for CCR, but I'm less sure how it helps individual practitioners.

You would like to see an additional column to sort the diagnoses ... what's the maximum number of diagnoses/problems do you have?
  15. Graham

    Graham Developer Staff Member

I don't think we can sort on multiple columns yet.

The scenario above is just one column, and wouldn't need to sort on more than 1 column.

Maximum number of diagnoses ... hard to say ... maybe 30. In normal mode, Synapse holds 16 diagnoses, Maximized it holds 20. I think having some people will want to be able to "order of diagnoses" in some way. My number scheme with the letters could do that.

While not impossible for a new column to be added, it would involve extensive changes to accommodate this in the script writer, various popups, the drug interaction checker, the consult editor, printing etc.

So, there has to be a strong business case for this.

Interesting .. I guess I thought you could just add another column to the Diagnosis List.

What's the programming reason behind the change in the drug interaction checker when we are talking about the diseases tab ? (sorry, I know this must be like explaining medicine to a pre-med student).

I guess I got carried away! It would alter the disease lookup though ...
