Both messages come up this time. I tried uncheck
"delete from scan directory after import", still the same issue. After
the error messages, it appears the client lost connection to the
server, it's not frozen as I can still click the tabs, but clicking
seach button does not get any response.
    The
files are uploaded -I can see the same files with odd long namesin
cache-listener directory, but it seems to me the client failed to tell
the server that the upload is complete so that the server can rename
the files. The items are listed under results tab after restarting the
client - without "view scan" button when selected.

BTW, can I safely delete these files with odd names?

There are two issues it looks like.

One where the upload fails altogether. I think those 4kb files of yours Jason are those, and it seems from the file dates it has not happened in a long time.

The second issue is where the file is transferred completely ( using an internal file name ), but is not being renamed by the server and this is causing a different error. This results in the text portion of the result being successfully added, but the file is not being attached to the result causing a result with no attachment.

The cause of this second error is a mystery to me.... it needs more debugging.

Every File upload problem I've ever had has successfully added the text portion of the result, but not the file attached.

As I say, I think we've had very few file upload problems since I changed to a different router.

I certainly can't understand the latest file upload problems that Graham and Qilin are having because we file 50 per day and are having no problems. I will upgrade my secretary to the latest beta to see if we can get lucky and get some errors.

214B43 client crashes on me at the end of uploading a file, I got this message:

This error may occur if you did not select a valid and accessible file.
    file: /C/Documents/***.doc
    make object! [
    code: 305
    type: 'script
    id: 'invalid-arg
    arg1: "none"
    arg2: none
    arg3: none
    near: [to integer! :value]
    where: 'to-integer
    ]

Change back to B29 works fine. Server is the most current one.

As qilin suggested, changing back to Synapse Client 214, beta 29 should get rid of the problem. Graham is working on a solution. Latest news is kgmamman has the problem too. [:(]

I don't think we've had a bug in Synapse that has lasted more than a few hours !

Here is a LINK to Synapse Client 214 Beta 29

I think now the cause is the "Add Results" function, used from the Function menu on the right for those using > 1024x768.

If you add results from the [Results] tab instead, you may find the error disappears.

Those using 1024x768 won't see the error normally.

Graham, the error that I reported happened while adding from the [Results] tab.

Ok, I know what the problem is now ... just need to fix it.

It is caused by the autofile which is parsing the file name and setting the patient id field to none if the parsing fails. Since most of you are not using autofile, I can make this parsing an option instead.

    <h2>R214B48 for Windows</h2>

    • Autofind parsing of file names is now controlled by the Autofind
flag on the add result window. That should stop the file import errors.

I think this is the first bug that has lasted more than 24 hours !

I guess the 100,000+ lines of code requires more and more thinking now. [:)]

    Well Done Graham.

Had a weird glitch scanning today.

My secretary claims that "for a long time" when filing items, synapse will fail on an import and the [Synapse Import] button will disappear and not reappear. If she looks at the item that failed the scanned item didn't make it to the server as [View Scan] is not an option when clicking on the patient's chart.

    More later.

I don't understand what she is claiming.

But if you upload a scan, the "synapse import" button will disappear until the operation is completed.

If it fails, the button does not reappear.

    Network issues?
