I am going to create a wiki for things that don't quite fit within the CS way of doing things.

It is here http://www.compkarori.co.nz:8080/ - now (November 2007) changed to http://compkarori.no-ip.biz:8090/

I'll be putting various instructions there such as how to setup Hylafax.

Because wiki's are so often abused by link spam, this wiki disallows anonymous edits, and anonymous registrations.

So, if you want to contribute, then please pm me with your email address and preferred username.

Too bad CS doesn't integrate with MediaWiki.

BTW, this mediawiki instance was just a vmware appliance that I downloaded and am running under Windows 2003 under vmware server.

Pretty painless way to setup mediawiki ...

    Dr. Chiu,

Can you create an account for me as well. I have some interfacing docs that I can contribute and manage.

    Thanks!

The wiki appears to be not readable unless you are logged in.

Have to isee if I can make it so that anonymous users can read as well.

Now enabled anonymous registrations ( with email confirmation ) and anonymous users can now browse.

    A nice MediaWiki install !

I really want to get more experience with wikis. I think they are a huge part of the future, but haven't learned how to edit / manage a wiki.

    Looking forward to it.

I can't seem email myself a confirmation email. it says it is "sent" but I never get it. It's my pop3 email not a www email and it's not in my spam folder. I don't think the email is being sent somehow.

Worked for me. I had to do the confirmation as well.

Maybe it's a spam filter on your ISP. Try changing to Gmail account.

catch 22A confirmation e-mail has been sent to the nominated
    e-mail address.

Before any other mail is sent to the account, you will have to follow the
instructions in the e-mail, to confirm that the account is actually
    yours.

    Graham,

Have you seen any MediaWiki tools that can make a MediaWiki site into a manual ? (ie. a pdf type document ?) ie. some sort of offline synape documentation ?
