Try filling all four fields, with the date of birth using mmddyyyy format ([F2 OK] button accepts this format). Error message shows:
"A date conversion error occurred, while converting '12011969' to a date. This invalid value was changed to today's date. You may have some data corruption issues. Contact compkarori@gmail.com for assistance quoting the error above."

That's not a crash .. but an error alert using the console. It uses the console instead of a GUI because the date checking routine is also used to check results and you don't want hundreds of popups occurring.

When I do this .... I hit [F2], then click save.
I get a popup asking who's patient is this.
But I dont get an error message. Beta 57 client.

that's normal .. it allows you to allocate the patient to the correct doc in the practice.

But there is no error, just the date format difference, and mmddyyyy is accepted by [F2 OK] button anyway. And closing the console window shuts down the client.

Closing any console window will shut down the client .. that's the way it is.

Yes, it's an error as the date format specified has to be dd-MMM-yyyy or dd/MMM/yy and variations on that.

On the to-do list is to map CPT codes automatically to a set of charges you use.

    * New option under Settings/User/Function Keys - Minimal or Maximum data. This controls whether the full patient record is retrieved when clicking on a patient in appts and results. Default is minimal.

Urgent help needed. Since this morning, the client gives a message "This client is too old. Click okay to check for new client", after clicking [OK], the client will download from Amazon, but displays this message again after downloading. We can't function now, please fix ASAP.

Now the office is paralysed, which is not good for both my business and Synapse, very frustrating. I hope a grace time of 3 days be given instead of immediately disabling the client before expiration. Put something like: "This client is expiring in 3 days, click okay to check for new client, click cancel to continue using current version". This way we have enough time to identify problems without interrupting office flow.

There's actually a 90 day countdown to the next update date. You can update anytime during this period.

    Try it again.

    Thanks, it's working now.
It's not easy to have the staff keep track of updating. Guess I'll have to set up some kind of alert for myself to avoid this in the future (>5 hours of down time). A built in reminder would be nice.
Has anyone else experienced similar problem?

The login screen states the expiry date so you see it every time you login. Not sure how more explicit I can make it.

Never paid attention to that, maybe make it red in color or have it blink 3 days prior to expiration date?

    The cycle repeats itself.
The forced updates are causing more problems than solving.
I almost never reboot synapse on my PCs so I just dont see this stuff coming.

Today it says there is no current client available.
